Juventus have had a busy few weeks, with Zlatlan Ibrahimovic having a calf problem.
But the French club have already announced that the centre-back will be out for three to four weeks.
The team will also miss the rest of their Champions League group stage, as they prepare to face Atletico Madrid.
“It’s a good injury for us and a difficult one,” Juve sporting director Andrea Tello told reporters on Thursday.
“It’s something we’re going to have to deal with for a while.
We have to wait for the doctor to tell us how long it’s going to take, but I think it’s something that we have to get used to.”
The 26-year-old will not return for the next match, against Bordeaux on March 6, but Juve have already been informed of his availability.
The club is also considering whether to send him back to the United States for further medical checks.
Juve are expected to face Arsenal at the Stadio Olimpico on March 14, with Ibrahimovic expected to be fit.
